Full Membership
Requirements for Full Membership
  • Hold registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with endorsement as a clinical psychologist

AND

  • Hold a professional Master’s or Doctoral degree in clinical psychology accredited by the body appointed under the current Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009)

OR

  • Hold full membership of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP). Membership of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP) is recognised by ACPA as meeting the requirements for full membership in ACPA. NZCCP members are entitled to all membership privileges associated with their membership category in ACPA. Clinical psychologists registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board who are not members of the NZCCP are eligible to join ACPA as an international member.

AUSTRALIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified* copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant) and
  • Certified* copies of testamur/s (degree/s) OR certified copy of transcripts containing itemised subjects (Please note documents will not be returned.)

NB. Endorsement in clinical psychology will be checked online by ACPA.

 

OVERSEAS QUALIFICATIONS: 

Those endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia after November 2006: 

  • Certified* copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant)

         AND

  • Certified* copy of testamur (degree) in clinical psychology, or full academic transcripts (Please note documents will not be returned).

Endorsed by the Psychology Board of Australia prior to November 2006: 

  • Certified* copies of any documents listing any change/s of name/s (if relevant)
  • Certified* copies of a full transcript containing itemised subjects of post-graduate clinical psychology training
  • Evidence of any previous registration or licensure as a  clinical psychologist in an international jurisdiction (Please note documents will not be returned.)

OR

  • A certified* copy of the certificate of Membership of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists.

N.B. Post-graduate qualifications in clinical psychology completed prior to 2006 those obtained overseas will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Please note, membership is valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance of your membership by the ACPA Membership Committee. Renewal notices are sent by email to the address you use as a login for your account when you apply for membership.

Make an application for Full Membership

To apply for Full ACPA Membership click on Apply for ACPA Membership in the left-hand side bar and click on and complete the form for Full Membership or Full Membership with a Find a Clinical Psychologist (FACP) Directory listing. If you apply for a FACP Directory listing you will be able to create your profile and edit this in Your Account is the Member Forum once your membership is approved. To complete your application, you will then need to send your documentation to:
