Serving Others Without Sacrificing Self: Burnout Prevention
Presented by Valerie Ling, Clinical Psychologist
Club York, 95-97 York Street, Sydney NSW 2000
Wednesday, 20 May 2020
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
In our fast-paced world, burnout has come to affect so many in our community: not just high flyers, but carers, parents and health care professionals. As a psychologist committed to the vision of a world without burnout, Valerie Ling wants to see our profession not only able to support clients in burnout prevention and recovery, but also be resourced and revitalised themselves to avoid the trap of burnout.
Having worked in this space for a number of years, Valerie will share with you her experience and wisdom on areas such as:
- What to do in session to reduce the likelihood of burnout and vicarious trauma.
- What to do in between sessions to enhance sure-footed resilience as a therapist.
- What you can look at within your work environment to enhance therapeutic endurance.
- The skills and practices Valerie personally uses in her professional life and 7-practitioner private practice.
